Skills that get you hired
Interviews, the STAR method, mindset, presence. The stuff job ads assume you already know.
Most students leave uni with a degree and no proof they can actually do the job. You won't. Learn the skills employers test for, then do real, mentored project work for real businesses - and walk into final year with something to show.
Real businesses have run projects with our students
A programme from Consultico.
The catch nobody warns you about
You've done the reading and sat the exams. You're on track for the degree. Then every job ad asks for experience you were never given the chance to get. The careers service is booked until next term. LinkedIn looks like everyone else has it sorted. And graduation is coming, fast.
Employers don't just want your degree. They want proof you can communicate, show up, and get real work done. Most students can't show that - not because they can't do it, but because nobody ever gave them the chance. That's the gap that gets good people overlooked. It's the whole reason ASF exists.
There's a better way in
ASF shows you the skills employers actually test for, then puts you in front of real work with real businesses. No lecture theatre. No unpaid coffee runs. Just a fair shot and someone in your corner showing you how.
How it works
Step 1
Two minutes, seven questions. See exactly where you stand and the three gaps holding you back.
Step 2
Free lessons on interviews, LinkedIn, communication, and the STAR method. The whole library, open from day one.
Step 3
Earn your place on the Micro-Internship pathway - around 100 hours, fully mentored. Some students got hired by the company they worked with.
It already works
We ran the pathway with our first small group. Real businesses signed up. Students were placed on real projects. Some were hired by the companies they worked with. Others took what they built and started their own thing. Named case studies are coming as these first cohorts finish - we'd rather show you the real ones than invent some.
What you get
Interviews, the STAR method, mindset, presence. The stuff job ads assume you already know.
From people who actually earn from it. Build your profile, find your voice, post with a plan that gets you noticed.
Not a CV. A live portfolio site on your own domain, built right here, ready to send to employers.
A proper community on Discord. Wins, honest feedback, live calls, and people going through exactly what you are.
Real projects with real businesses. Do the work, get it used, and put it straight in your portfolio.
Live calls with professionals we bring in - hiring managers, recruiters, people who've walked the path you're on.
The Micro-Internship pathway
The pathway is where skills become proof. Around 100 hours of real project work with a real business, mentored the whole way. You apply when rounds open - places are limited, and it's earned, not automatic. It's how you leave university able to say "here's what I did", not just "here's what I studied". For some of our first students, it turned into a job. For others, a business.
What it costs
Every lesson, every quiz, the community, and the route into real project work - all of it is free. No card, no trial that expires, no upgrade waiting for you three lessons in.

Where this came from
Applied Skills Fellowship was started by Paul Wilson, who built his own company, Consultico, while he was still at university. He built ASF as the leg-up he wished he'd had - a fair shot for talented students who don't need shortcuts, just someone to show them how. ASF stands on its own. Consultico is its home and heritage, and where a lot of the real client work behind the pathway comes from.
One version: you're applying for the same jobs as everyone else, with the same empty CV, waiting on replies that don't come. The other: you walk in with real work behind you, a portfolio you can send, and people who'll vouch for you. Same you. Different year. The difference is what you start now.
Yes, all of it. No card, no trial trap, nothing held back for a paid tier. Real lessons you keep.
Get your free Employability Score, see your three biggest gaps, and get a plan to fix them. No card, and the portfolio you build is yours to keep.
